overviewWith the excitement of the 2012 London Olympic Games, we decided to build a bike that would commemorate the enduring symbols of the Olympics, peace, unity, friendship and the true spirit of human competition. Constructing a bike that stood for these symbols was no easy task.
We decided that the Wilier Triestina Cento1 frame was the perfect thoroughbred for this feat. The Cento1 already has a deep history of victories and World Championship titles.
We also wanted to show off the flare of something new from 2012. The latest SRAM Red was the perfect choice, since SRAM is still somewhat of the new kid on the block. Some of the innovative designs like the YAW (no trim require) front derailleur with its latest weight savings, has proven it to be one of the top groups out on the market. This gives it a great edge over the electronic competition and shows that a mechanical group still puts up a very strong fight. This is a special SRAM Red Gold Edition that has gold medal accents on many pieces of the group. Rounding out the wheelset, SRAM AL30 Gold ended up the perfect choice.
We added the 3T Team Ergonova and ARX London Edition cockpit, to tie in the commemoration. With the final fit and finish of a Fi’zi:k Aliante Gold carbon braided saddle and Deda Gold Logo bar tape, this bike really shows off the true victory of Gold!
